Last night a student had some serious questions about his homework..He private messaged me in Schoology and I get a text message because Schoology has text notifications integrated (optional).

Even though I was at a school board meeting, I was able to realize he had a problem and message him through the Schoology iPhone app immediately.

How cool is that???

Earlier I had a question about limited functionality using Schoology on iPad because 1 function uses Flash.  A few hours later...BAM I got a response!

Think Angel would do that?

More time spent with Schoology and finding a few bugs, but few they are!  I am really pleased with this tool to this point.

Today my students submitted their first items using the drop box feature and all but a few took to it like a duck to water.  There is always a couple that need to be shown how to save a file and upload a file.  You mean you can CHOOSE where the computer saves the file?  I thought it always went into "My Documents".  UGH!

As I am typing this, I am getting email notifications that the last students are completing their assignments.  AWESOME!

The iPhone app needs work

Viewing the dropbox submissions requires Flash so no worky on the iPad BUT they are addressing this.  (so far every time I make a recommendation or have a question it is addressed in less than 24 hours) 



Android app not yet released

Hmmm...that's about it for now...not much to complain about!

Schoology roll-out

So, today I rolled out Schoology with a new-to-me group of adult learners.  

Comments I heard: 

"This is going to be fun"

"Cool rip-off of Facebook"

"YES!!! We don't have to deal with Angel!"

"How can they do this legally?"
